Great

Despite your failures, shortcomings, mistakes and weaknesses, please know you were made to be great. But to even be on that path, you must first know and believe that you were always destined for greatness, since the day you were born. God does not see us as we are now, He sees us as who we can be, who we were made to be, who we were meant to be – strong and loved, capable of, as Ghandi so eloquently said, being the change we wish to see in the world. Yes, we are all a broken people – searching, wandering, yearning, maybe filled with regrets and things we wish we could change or do better – but that brokenness shouldn’t inhibit us in achieving greatness, it should be a source of fuel to get us to the top of the mountain. It’s never too late to start over, never too far out to turn around, never in too deep to swim back up, never too old to learn. Every day is a new opportunity to get it right, to make a choice, the only question is – will you seize the opportunity? Will you stay where you are or will you choose to be great? Will you finally choose to believe you deserve better, that your dreams are worth it, that you are beautiful enough, smart enough, talented enough, that you are simply…enough? This is what Mother Teresa has been helping me rediscover recently…that I am loved DESPITE everything I see wrong with me, and it is with this belief that leads me to conclude that I am, no, WE are created for greater things. And with this, we do great things – follow our dreams, eliminate a bad habit, help the poor, are the most loving parents, are kind, write songs, run our hearts out, travel, forgive – we change the world. Saint Teresa of Calcutta, pray for us! #saint #motherteresa
